Starting Your Day with a Productive Morning Routine

It can be hard to drag yourself out of bed in the mornings, but it doesn’t have to be that way! By developing a morning routine, you can maximize your productivity and energy! Read on to see which simple steps you can incorporate into your routine to help you set the tone for the rest of your day.

1. Wake Up Before Eight O’clock

No matter how late I stay up the previous night, I always make an effort to try to wake up before eight o’clock. It can be tempting to stay in bed and scroll through my phone, but I realize this actually makes me feel more lethargic and lazy. Getting up and starting the day sounds unappealing, but the more you do it, the easier it gets!

2. Drink a Glass of Warm Water

After a night of sleep, I’m usually very parched! Starting the day off with a glass of warm water helps you rehydrate, and the warmer temperatures are more calming for the body.

3. Keep a Consistent Workout Routine

I love kicking off my day with a workout. It’s a great way to pump up your endorphins and boost your metabolism, which is an amazing way to start the day!

4. Make Your Bed and Tidy Up the Room / Closet

I also like setting the tone of the day by making my bed and tidying up my room! Both may seem like very small tasks, but by accomplishing them first thing in the morning, you can actually increase your productivity.

5. Journal

I like to journal in the morning to make note of what I’m grateful for, and I also write down my affirmations and intentions for the day.

6. Make Coffee and Breakfast

I try to take my time when making my coffee and breakfast. When I start the morning on a healthy note, it helps me make better food choices throughout the day, too.

7. Check To-Do List and Email

To gauge how heavy my workload is, I like to double-check my to-do list and email just to make sure I get all of my urgent tasks out of the way as soon as possible.
