Fresh Morning Air

I like to keep my morning routine nice and simple. It took me a while to figure out a stable routine, but I have been committed to this one for over a year now. I’ve learned the importance of starting out the day mindfully.

Here is my morning routine:

Being a morning person, I usually get up at around 7:30. Once I’m up, I brush my teeth, then splash my face with cold water. Then, I put on my shoes for a short 10-minute walk around the block. I just love the nice, fresh morning breeze! Once back from my walk, I feed my fish, then grab a cup of tea for myself. I sip my tea while I respond to emails and write in my journal. Once my mom wakes up at around 8:30, we go out and take my dog for a walk. Once I’m back from this second walk, I send my daily Snapchats and answer texts. Once it hits around 9:00 I have breakfast. Recently, with so much time on my hands, I’ve been making myself a nice breakfast: Acai bowls, omelets, breakfast wraps. I love breakfast, so I take a lot of care in assembling my food.

Just like that, my morning routine is over, and I go along with my day. Sometimes, it involves driving around, and other times, it involves studying. Every day varies, but I try to keep myself busy. But- I definitely believe in a low-key, mindful morning routine!
