Hey everyone! Today I want to talk about the new Netflix TV show called The Queen’s Gambit. I haven’t been able to stop talking about this show. All I have to say is that it’s absolutely amazing! It takes place in the 1960s and depicts a chess prodigy named Beth Harmon. The setting, plot, cinematic style, and way the story is told truly hooks the audience and inspires them. Coming from very little, the main character is able to climb her way up and do something no woman has been able to do before, especially during this time period.
I also really enjoyed the fact that it takes place in the 1960s because it provides something new and a look at what the world used to look like. If you haven’t checked it out please do! Even if you don’t like chess, I don’t doubt that you’ll love it. I do, however, want to say that I enjoyed the show the more I watched so get past the first episode and you’re good to go!
