Taylor Swift has been a major influence on my life since I was introduced to her music when I was 8 years old. I remember sitting on my friend’s bed listening to her newly released song “Mine” and I immediately loved it. Since then, she has been a huge inspiration to not only me but to many young girls across the world.
The most inspirational part of Taylor Swift’s story is that she showed true perseverance and dedication, even as a child. Although her family loved music, she had no family members already in the music industry to help her get started with her career. She spent countless hours of her childhood learning guitar and writing music to improve her skills. Once she started writing more songs, she went to numerous record agencies to play her music. Time and time again, record agencies turned her down because she was too young and they didn’t believe people would listen to her music. However, she didn’t give up. Swift was determined to be a singer and was willing to keep trying to get her music public. She was able to convince her parents to go to Nashville, where she was finally able to sign with a record label. She released her first song at only 14 years old. Since then, she has released many hit songs, hit multi-platinum on many albums, and received Grammys for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Taylor Swift is currently one of the most successful singers and it is all because of the hard work and determination she put into her music. She was confident in herself and her abilities and didn’t let rejections discourage her from putting herself out there. She is an inspiration to many girls and I will always look back to her story for motivation.
