Creating Your Own Small Wins

During this time, it is easy to find ourselves stuck in a rut of a mundane routine; however, it is critical that we remain mindful of keeping a positive mental state. Recently, I have been maintaining my positivity through creating opportunities for small wins.

We are used to waking up and overcoming many novel challenges throughout the day, and without these, we feel our purpose start to drift. Instead of succumbing to these feelings of defeat, find a goal that you would like to achieve and invite one other person to take this challenge on with you. This can be cooking more, running a certain number of miles, limiting your sugar intake, or learning how to play chess. By taking on this activity together, you can be mindful about how you are truly experiencing it, and you can hold each other accountable for completing the task. It is also a great way to boost confidence and provides a reason to connect with people that you might not have had the chance to talk with before.

By creating an attainable goal, you are taking action and creating a scenario that will result in you feeling accomplished, thus improving your positive state of mind.
