Ocean’s 8 may not be the typical crime movie one would expect; there are no bullets raining from above or an elite team of criminals attempting to rob an impregnable bank, but the film does offer an entertaining–and at times funny–story of an unlikely group of women working together to pull off an impossible heist.
Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean is as brilliant as she is cunning, and the film does wonders in focusing on her character. All the women featured in this movie each had a unique and powerful character but, sadly, the film did not take the time to fully develop or make the audience care for them.
Ocean’s 8 has its flaws, but it still holds a place alongside its predecessors.
