From the brain of Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, comes hit new show Disenchantment, a satirical comedy full of knights, princes, and fairy tale allusions. The series follows the princess Bean of Dreamland, her sidekick elf Elfo, and her personal companion demon Luci as they embark on various misadventures.
Although animated, this show is definitely intended for older viewers, as evidenced by the real-world struggles—such as bar fights and wedding nights—these fairy tale characters endure over the course of their journey. Though the, at times, raunchy and offensive style of plot, though hilarious for some, is not suitable for all.
Overall, Disenchantment provides a scathing yet comedic look at societal standards and gives The Simpsons a run for its money as Matt Groening’s greatest work.
