With the typical Labor Day festivities and all the hustle and bustle of school starting back up, the kickoff of college football was buried for many people. That being said, the excitement of the games this past weekend did not disappoint.

Many games experienced delays and even cancellations; West Virginia-Tennessee at Charlotte, ended at 40-14 West Virginia, with West Virginia’s quarterback throwing five touchdown passes. On an unexpected turn, Virginia Tech dominated Florida State University resulting in a 24-3 win and, similarly, Villanova overturned Temple in a close 19-17 game.

Ohio State soundly beat Oregon State 77-31, throwing the new head coach of Oregon, Jonathan Smith, for a loop. In perhaps the most anticipated game of the weekend, Notre Dame defended its home field for a 24-17 win over Michigan.

Overall, this week’s twists and turns bode well for the rest of the 2018-2019 NCAA football season.
