Must Watch Movies

My summer just started, which means I have more free time to binge-watch new and old movies. I love laying in bed, putting on a good movie, and getting lost in it. Now that I have more time to do so, the binge-watching begins.

Here are some movies that I think everyone should watch at least once:

  1. Dead Poets Society (1989): If you need a good cry, watch this movie. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time, and Robin Williams stars in it. As a lover of the arts, this movie never fails to make me tear up.

  2. Lady Bird (2017): I recently watched this movie for the first time, and I was bawling through the whole thing. It’s one of those movies that leaves you in shock and confusion the whole time but is also painfully relatable. Timothee Chalamet is one of the main characters in this, and he’s always great to look at. I’d recommend this even more for people with mommy issues (LOL).

  3. A Beautiful Mind (2001): This is a movie you can’t look away from; in a good way. It represents a man living with schizophrenia and his day-to-day life. I personally think it’s a good portrayal of the illness. It doesn’t demonize mental illnesses like a lot of other Hollywood movies, so it’s a must-watch if you like movies with mental health representation.

  4. Donnie Darko (2001): I personally like watching this movie around Halloween, but it’s a great watch no matter what time of the year it is. It can be classified as a horror movie, but coming from someone that absolutely hates horror movies, Donnie Darko is amazing. It has a lot of mind twists, and I was on Reddit for hours after I watched it, trying to understand what I had just watched.
