With all the free time that summer vacation has to offer, why not get caught up in a new show, try out some new music, or relax with a movie? This summer, I’ve been able to rediscover some old favorites AND find some new ones; with that, here are a few of my summer media favorites:
1) Movie – Clueless (1995)
Clueless, for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of having seen this classic film before, is the quintessential 90s high school movie. The film revolves around Cher Horowitz, a wealthy, popular teenage socialite who has to navigate the problems of high school friendships, romance, and academics. Starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd, this film is sure to not only give you some great style inspo, but also be a great source of entertainment!
2) TV Show – Dynasty (2017)
A modern reboot of the classic 80s soap opera, Dynasty stars Elizabeth Gillies, Grant Show, Nathalie Kelley, and James Mackay. The show focuses on the Carrington electricity empire and the family member’s feud for control over the Carrington name, influence, and legacy. Funny and dramatic, the show is sure to keep you on your toes.
3) Music – Blackbear
If you’re a fan of R&B and hip-hop, you should check out Blackbear. The artist behind hits like “Idfc” and “do re mi,” Blackbear’s music is soulful and vulnerable while still being catchy and danceable. Some of my favorite Blackbear songs include “Hotel Andrea,” “Wanderlust,” and “Chateau.”
Catch up on your favorite shows, binge watch some new movies, and enjoy these last few weeks of summer!
