Sixteen-year-old Billie Eilish’s “when the party’s over” does not disappoint. With her recent rise to fame, Eilish has continuously releases music with dramatic production and an ominous tone prevalent through the lyrics present in her songs, and “when the party’s over” is no exception.
Describing the song as, “It’s not really, ‘I’m sad,’ you know what I mean? It’s like […] you’re on the phone with someone […] and you’re just like, ‘You know what? Fucking leave me alone.’” Rather than being upset, Eilish wrote this song about the anger that causes one to decide to have some distance away from their partner.
