True crime is the leading genre in the world of podcasts and it’s my favorite genre as well. I’ve listened to a significant number of podcasts—more than I would like to admit—and few “hit the spot” as well as RedHanded does. RedHanded is hosted by a wonderful British duo, Suruthi Bala and Hannah Maguire. These two discuss a variety of cases, from the well-known to the obscure and bizarre. Their approach is always so well-informed and thoroughly researched, and they often incorporate a feminist element to their discourse that’s not only entertaining but also educational above all. Perhaps it’s their British accents, but they are pleasant to listen to and, as previously alluded to, the hosts are intelligent and impressively articulate. RedHanded is the winner of The Listener’s Choice 2020 given by the British Podcast Awards and the hosts will soon be releasing their first book.
