Easy Organization Tips

Organization is a helpful skill no matter what you use it for. When you know where your things are and what you need to do, everything is easier. I am a big believer in this, so here are a few tips that work for me and might help you, too.

  1. Make lists. They can be for things you need to do, buy, learn, etc. You can make a list for whatever you want. Jotting things down to get them out of your head and somewhere permanent can be really helpful if you’re forgetful. Plus, it’s so satisfying to cross things off those lists.
  2. Make a routine. If you’re always struggling to find stuff or if your spaces become messy because you always throw things where you have room, make a dedicated routine. When you get home, put all your stuff away in designated spots and make a habit out of it. This can also help with other things—errands, taking medicines, stretching. Do them in the same order every day so it’ll become a habit. If you need to, write that order down until you memorize it.
  3. Planners. You’ve probably heard this before, but they really are so helpful. I don’t do too much with my planner; I just write down assignments and tasks and their due dates. Still, it’s helpful to see those deadlines approaching and the physical reminder that I need to complete them. And as I said before, it’s very satisfying to cross them off and finally move on.
