Best Ways to Meal Prep and Eat Healthy

There are many perks to meal prepping, such as saving money on food and developing better eating habits. We all know that it’s cheaper and healthier to make food at home versus eating out every day. So, here are some ways you can start saving money and slowly start planning your meals and eating better on a day-to-day basis.

We all are able to give ourselves those cheat meals or snacks, so planning every meal isn’t necessary either. However, what I like to do is use the Tasty app to look up interesting, fun, and easy recipes that I can recreate at home. I also love finding random recipes on YouTube and Tik Tok. I usually will pick 3 or 4 recipes, save the leftovers and rotate them throughout the week. This reduces the amount of food that goes to waste and also makes it easier for me to prepare meals on those busy days.

Something else I love doing is buying lots of fruits and veggies instead of other more unhealthy snacks. To ensure that I eat everything I buy, I pre-wash and cut them. This lets me have easy access. If I’m hungry, instead of reaching for chips, I can reach for fruit or take out veggies and hummus.

All in all, meal prepping not only allows you to save money, but it leaves you feeling less stressed about what you’re going to eat. The summer has ended, which means school, work, and busy schedules will come back in full force. This is the best way to take one less worry off your plate.
