Accomplishing Your Goals One Step at a Time

Sometimes setting goals can feel daunting. Whether you express your objectives to your friends, family, or yourself, goals can add pressure and make them seem unattainable or unrealistic.

My best advice is to start off small and focus on the little things instead of the big picture. If your goal is to become a better cook, but you have no idea where to start, you might become overwhelmed and give up. But if you set daily or weekly goals and start with easy recipes and slowly move your way up, eventually, you will become more confident in the kitchen.

Another example could be a goal of becoming a better runner. This takes practice, and when your body isn’t ready, it’ll get tired quickly, and you’ll feel like you can’t do it. That’s why a good idea would be to start running short distances or at a moderate pace. With time it’ll become easier; you’ll be able to run faster and for more time.

Accomplishing your goals will increase your confidence and happiness. While setting lifelong goals is great, having short-term goals is key as well. Also, remember that most things take time, and you shouldn’t be hard on yourself, so don’t be scared to try new things and push yourself.
