Fresh Faced for the Fourth

The Fourth of July is coming up so quickly this year. Is it me or does it feel like yesterday was May? Anyways, it is time to start planning your Fourth of July look. I am here to help you with all the beauty trends. Let’s get started!

First things first: whenever I like to get ready for something, I like to give myself 3 days of preparation. For me, I like to find an outfit prior to the day of the event. Then I like to take care of my skin. Feeling my best and most confident in my skin makes everything better. I love to prep my skin with face masks, on the spot creams, and moisturizer.

Since I am going to be out in the sun all day on the 4th, I need to make sure that I have a proper facial sunscreen that will protect me from the sun’s harsh rays. Recently, I have been loving Elta MD 46 SPF. It feels so lightweight and doesn’t break me out. Often times I find myself skipping facial sunscreens and just wearing my foundation with SPF 25. I do this because I am so scared of having a product on my face clog my pores, which leads to tricky breakouts.

However, this sunscreen is the best! It has safe ingredients for sensitive/ acne prone skin. That is a double plus. In addition, it does not have a scent.

Next thing I like to do to prepare for the 4th: make plans with my friends and family! I love to know what everyone is doing. That way, I have options! My sisters and I like to match our outfits, whether it’s the same shorts or shoes, it’s fun to get festive and dress the part. I think it is important to keep your makeup subtle on the 4th because you never know if you are gonna go swimming the next minute or hit the beach within the hour. Waterproof mascara is a go-to for this type of occasion. In the photo below, I am wearing waterproof mascara because we were at the beach all day. I still wanted to feel pretty with a little touch of makeup, but not overdone to the point of covering my face completely.
