Working Out Doesn’t Have to be Boring!

As someone who actively works out, I know what it feels like to dread working out sometimes. While working out can make you feel better after the exercise, some days it can be hard to get up and go to the gym. When I first started working out, I stuck to the same routines at the gym, and while I still have a routine, I decided to spice up my exercises to motivate me more. Here are some different types of workouts and classes that I do every once in a while to make working out more fun for me:

1. Pilates

I never thought I would enjoy pilates, but here I am. I started going to the Pilates classes that my gym offers, and it was a lifesaver for when I still want to get my exercise in but don’t want to come up with my own workouts to do that day. If you don’t want to go to classes, you can always look up youtube videos or routines to do at home!

2. EDM fitness

This type of exercise is perfect for people who enjoy music, specifically EDM. The workouts are intense and fast-paced, but the music keeps your energy high. So if you’re someone that struggles with pushing yourself, this type of class should be enjoyable.

3. Swimming

Swimming isn’t just a fun activity—it’s also a great way to stay active and fit, especially during the summer. You get to cool off while also exercising. It’s a win-win!

4. Hot yoga

Don’t be fooled by the word ‘yoga’! Hot yoga will leave you sweating as if you just showered. These types of workouts are great for stretching, clearing your mind, and exercising all at the same time.

5. Hiking

I used to hate hiking, but getting to the top of your destination always makes the hike so fulfilling to me. If you aren’t much of a hiker, I recommend finding a trail with scenery that you like. It will make the hike much more enjoyable and peaceful! The best part is that you can turn around at any time and still be getting your exercise in.

6. Zumba

If you like dancing, Zumba is for you. It’s a great way to have fun while working out at the same time!
