Winter Skin Favorites

Regardless of skip type, the winter months have a way of drying us all out. If you didn’t have dry skin before, you do now. So, to combat this, here are some common skincare and makeup products to help your skin to stay hydrated—or at least look it.

Although you already incorporate this into your routine, it is especially important to have some sort of moisturizer in your skincare and makeup routine. The colder temperatures and drier air can chap the sensitive skin on your face, making moisturizers more vital to maintaining dewy skin. Likewise, the dry winter air can chap your lips more so than in other seasons, so lip balms and chapsticks are handy to have for soft lips.

Lastly, regular powder makeup products, while perfect for oily summer skin, may not be the best choice for the winter because of how dried out your skin will be already. Instead, it can be helpful both for blending and appearance purposes to use cream-based products. This can include replacing powder blushes, contours, highlighters, and foundations with jelly, cream, or liquid versions which are readily available at both drugstores and high-end makeup stores. Overall, to keep winter skin looking as glowy and hydrated as just-got-back-from-the-beach skin, just a little extra love and attention is needed.
