If you’re anything like me, you are always looking for your next binge-worthy watch. As someone particular to the content I consume, I search for my next viewing experience carefully. I often take a look at the trending pages of streaming services and Twitter, or ask a friend with similar taste. While TV shows offer me a longer connection with the plot and characters, I have found that I’m now branching out to movies that come with high recommendations. That being said, here are some of my recent favorites, movies and TV shows alike.
Fresh
You may or may not have heard of Fresh, a movie classified under the thriller category, available for streaming on Hulu. As a recommendation from my roommate, I went into my viewing experience with little knowledge of how the plot may unfold. I believe this made the movie an even better watch and for that reason, I will keep the details scarce. However, if you are a fan of content that makes your skin crawl, I recommend giving this one a chance.
Pam and Tommy
If you like drama, glamor, and scandal all wrapped up in a true story, the Pam and Tommy docuseries is for you. The series follows the infamous sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee as the couple comes to terms with their private lives being released to the world. I went into this series with some knowledge and a few doubts about its entertainment value but came away quite satisfied. It’s a series I could see myself rewatching in the future. Pam and Tommy is another Hulu staple, in my opinion.
Schitt’s Creek
Some viewers prefer a lighthearted and comedic experience to break up everyday life. If that’s you, Schitt’s Creek would be a good watch. The show features a wealthy family that suddenly finds themselves broke, their only remaining asset being the small town of Schitt’s Creek, where they now must live. While the family deals with tragedy, they continue on with wacky scenarios and jokes to cope with their new situation. I’ve personally rewatched this show many times and it never seems to lose its value.
These are just a few of my recent favorites and finds. Obviously my taste in entertainment won’t please everyone, but I hope that these shows and movies find the right audience.
