Visiting Independent Bookstores

Sometimes it’s just easier to choose to purchase books online from Amazon or other larger retailers, but it’s really important that we readers don’t stop supporting and visiting the independent bookstores in our areas.

Due to the pandemic, small stores suffered and because books can be pricey, many consumers strayed away from buying full-priced books. However, there are two bookstores in the Orange County area that I wanted to talk about and get to let others know that they’re worth the visit.

The first store is called Arvida Books, located in Old Tustin. They are a beautiful bookstore that is big on collecting secondhand books. Most of the books they sell are donated to the store, but they do get the new current favorites of each genre. They also have a drink stand that sells delicious coffee and tea. With its calming energy and comfortable seating, this is a great place to check out in the future.

The second spot is called Laguna Beach Books and it’s the perfect shop to visit during the summer. Being by the beach, the store gives off a specific and special vibe and has a tranquil atmosphere. You’ll definitely be able to find some hidden gems here. If you’re ever interested in finding and supporting a new bookstore, don’t hesitate to check this one out. And the best part is, that after you pick out your book, you can walk over to the beach and read it.

Reading and supporting our local bookstores is always important, so I hope this article motivates and inspires you to check one out if you’re able.
