What kind of student were you in high school? Maybe you studied or played lots of sports. No matter the case, if you decide to enter university, you will have your major and can choose what classes you want to take. It means we are one step closer to society and becoming adults. It’s not about getting accepted to a college but about finding what you need.
The first part I want to discuss is that you should try and experience as much as you can in college. Meet and talk to many people, especially various cultures, and listen to stories you have yet to experience. You’ll get to realize how narrow and small the community you’ve lived in so far really is and how vast the world that’s waiting for you is. Do as much as you want, challenge yourself, and have the courage to know how to fall, even though you know it will hurt.
It is also essential to know what you like and dislike. That’s why you need to hang out with your friends and travel to places you haven’t been to. This will make your life more colorful!
If you have a chance, don’t be afraid to go abroad and study! Due to this program, I was able to study abroad at Chapman as an exchange student, and have become a writer who writes what you are reading now! No one can predict our future, and also we don’t know what good opportunities we’ll get, so that’s why I decided to do this and why I think you should consider doing it too. To create an environment where you can reach as many opportunities as possible and don’t fear any challenges! I promise you, it’s worth it.
Many of your friends might already be trying to get into a big company and a stable job, which might cause you to think: am I wasting my time just trying to follow the “experience”? Sometimes you don’t even feel sure about it yourself. But until now, we have defined the timetable set by the teacher and the clothes our parents bought us. Just cook with the ingredients you want to eat, wear the clothes you want to wear, and go to the class you want to take. You are the one who is more courageous and bold than you think. Enjoy such an uncertain and unscripted life!
