Uh Oh, I Officially Have Senioritis

Is it your senior year of high school or college? Are you totally over it? Don’t worry, the feeling is completely normal for a graduating senior. Even when you graduate school and start working a full time job, there will be times where you feel a sense of “senioritis.” Obviously, as an employed professional you wouldn’t call this senioritis, but it’s similar in the sense that you are feeling a bit lazy, and would like to do other things with your time–things that you actually enjoy.

Here’s how to limit your senioritis. First off, if you’re reading this as an underclassman in either high school or college, make sure to knock out as many classes as possible before your senior year! Usually, students begin their educational journey extremely motivated in their first few years. By senior year, it is only expected that you become a little burnt out. If you’re in high school, getting your classes out of the way early on makes senior year much easier; it gives you the time to take electives as a senior and sit back, waiting on college decisions. If you’re in college, you can follow a similar path, allowing yourself to fully enjoy senior year.

Beware: The feeling of senioritis is not always limited to seniors. You might find yourself over school as a junior, sophomore, or (unfortunately) even a freshman! When you experience senioritis before your senior year, push past it. Continue working hard and knock out those important classes. By the time you get to senior year, it’ll all be worth it.
