These days, breaking into the fashion industry starts with creating an online presence.

Joy Harlynking has done just that. The 21-year-old student and aspiring stylist dedicates half her time to studying psychology at Rollins College, and the other half to running her online fashion blog, Joyspiration.

Joyspiration provides young women with a daily source of style inspiration. Harlynking uses the platform to share the latest trends, her current favorite pieces, and everyday looks that women don’t have to break out of their own closets to achieve. “If I can inspire people to wake up everyday and think ‘what can I wear today that express me?’ then that’s the greatest result I accomplish,” she says.

Harlynking dreams of starting her own styling business in New York City one day. With the uprise of “fast fashion” and having new trends right at our fingertips, the blogger acknowledges that wedging a foot in the fashion door starts with social media. “Blogging and social media has really opened my eyes to a new side of the industry I never imagined I’d be involved in,” Harlynking explains.

As a senior in high school, Harlynking was voted as “best dressed” in her class, opening her eyes to the realization that her “unique sense of style” made an impact in her community, motivating her to start the blog.

Harlynking additionally considers fashion to be “in her blood.” Her mother is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and built her own evening gown business. “She always inspired me with the way she dressed and allowed me to be creative with my style since a young age,” she says. “My mom has been a huge inspiration to me!”

Harlynking continues to embody the new generation of fashion. Check out Joyspiration to keep up with the hottest trends, and find inspiration for affordable, stylish looks.
