The Power of Clean Skincare

I’m a skincare fanatic, but there’s just something about the summer months that inspire me to take even better care of my skin. It may be the hot weather, prompting me to wear less makeup on a daily basis, or it may just be laziness, but in the summer, I find myself obsessing over that dewy no-makeup look. One of the best ways to achieve this is through clean skincare.

In the past, I never thought clean skincare would make such a difference, but after trying a few clean beauty products, I was completely enamored with the results. Not only did my skin look healthier, I also noticed significantly fewer allergic reactions to the products I used. My skin is sensitive to harsh chemicals, which can be found in a lot of skincare and makeup products nowadays, but with clean beauty, I never really have to worry about it.

If you’re a fan of clean skincare as well, read on to see what some of my tried and true favorites are!

1. Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner

This toner is made with soothing rosewater, real rose petals, and hyaluronic acid. I love how it minimizes the look of pores while also increasing skin hydration. The best part about this toner is how gentle it is on the skin since it’s alcohol-and-paraben-free.

2. Tatcha Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA

This serum is pricey, but it’s definitely worth the investment. I love how it’s made with pure ingredients–such as Japanese angelica root extract and acids from fruits such as apples, grapefruits, and oranges–that help to soften, smooth, and brighten the skin. Plus, this serum is vega, cruelty-free, and free of gluten, silicone, oil, and fragrance. It also comes in a recyclable bottle!

3. Belif The True Aqua Bomb

This lightweight gel cream is one of my all-time favorites. Not only does it provide a burst of coolness when first applied, the cream also gives my skin a super healthy glow. When I had an allergic reaction last year, this was the only cream my skin was okay with. I used it religiously for a solid three months, and the quick improvements that I saw were amazing.

4. Olehenriksen Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser

This cleanser is one of my favorites for the summer. It does a very good job of cleaning the pores and reducing excess oil, which is a must during the warmer months. I’m also a really big fan of the blend of potent active botanicals in this cleanser, which includes green tea, eucalyptus, algae, and Irish moss extracts.
