The Lazy Way to Summer: From Me to You

Orianna Childress

Summer has a carefree and entertaining connotation. At least that’s what we dream for it to be. A dream that can easily be achieved by obtaining these staple summer items that have worked for me.

Summer is the perfect time unleash your natural hair. Still frizz remains a ruthless enemy, so do yourself a favor and invest in anti-frizz hair products.

Minimal makeup is also essential for these eminent dog days. Heavy makeup is bound to sweat off and on top of that it just doesn’t feel good. Start off with a cleanser and sparsely apply a low coverage foundation or concealer. To seal the deal add some powder to ward off the heat, apply some highlight for nice glow, and top it off with lip gloss or lipstick.

During this season we want to look good but it’d be nice to eradicate the effort. Cutoff shorts can easily be dressed down with a simply tee or dressed up with a dress shirt, for a chicer look. Slides are also a universal piece, they can go with everything, literally. To finish our look we’re going to need some carrying gear. A tote is simple way to pack all your summer supplies without looking like a soccer mom.

And so I pass on my summer essentials to you, may they fulfill all your hopes and wishes.
