The first of my summer snacks is a true classic. Martinelli’s apple juice is a treat that is hard to beat. This refreshing drink is cold-pressed from the finest variety of U.S.-grown fresh apples and is 100% apple juice with no additives of any kind.

This second snack is on the saltier side. I find that chips can feel fattening or greasy, but I love the salt and the crunch they provide. This alternative is light and crunchy and can be eaten alone, paired with other cheeses and meats, or dipped in hummus for a lovely afternoon snack.

Speaking of hummus, my next snack is local to my area in the Napa Valley. Every Saturday, the local farmer’s market features The Hummus Guy. This famous Bay Area vendor was established as a family business in Petaluma in 2008 and has been serving many Bay Area farmers’ markets since then. They source the freshest non-GMO ingredients and only use fresh veggies and olive oil in their hummus with no preservatives. This is without fail the best hummus I have ever had. I discovered The Hummus Guy at the beginning of this summer season, and it has been on my grocery list every week since!

My next summer treat is awaited all year long. As one of my favorite fruits, the apricot serves as a light snack, an addition to a meal, and sometimes even a healthy dessert! I like to get them from the farmer’s market, but during this season, they can be found in any local grocery store.

Last and certainly not least, I love to enjoy Bare’s baked apple chips. This goes along with my alternative to traditional chips, and these are my kryptonite. I could eat an entire bag of these in one sitting and not feel bad about it, which is a lot to say considering most snacking habits. Made with only one ingredient– apples, this snack is as simple as it gets. Slowly baked, with no preservatives, this healthy snack is as good as candy, without all the added sugars.

Whether you’re looking for a salty snack or a sweet treat, these top five snacks for summer are the way to go.
