As someone who has dealt with hormonal acne for nearly ten years, I have tried every skincare line and product on the market. Though nothing has given me a Disney princess glow yet, some are definitely worth the money more than others. Here are a few of my favorite products from some top brands.
The Earth to Skin Supergreens face wash from Walmart is my very favorite. Retailing for only $7-8, this is a facewash with simple ingredients that lathers up when you cleanse your face. This wash is primarily for people with oily skin (like me) or who struggle with constant breakouts. The wash leaves your skin dewy and refreshed without feeling tight or caked with residue. It is a great product for an unbeatable price.
Mario Badescu is not my favorite skincare brand, however, one of their products has become one of my bathroom cabinet staples. The Drying Lotion is meant for those angry, enlarged pimples. You take a q-tip, dab a bit of the lotion on, and leave it overnight. In the morning it has helped dry up the pimple and reduce pain and inflammation. This is great for someone with chronic acne or the occasional zit. Though the price tag is a bit high at $18 a bottle, it lasts for several months and can really help with painful spots. Beware of the brand, however; Mario Badescu’s other products are filled with nasty fragrances and filler ingredients. That’s why you must hunt for the treasure!
Lastly, a product I’ve enjoyed recently is the rice-based Burt’s Bees facial moisturizer. This product is clean, with simple components and a gentle finish. This moisturizer is great for sensitive skin and never leaves you with irritation or burning. At $15 a bottle, it is a great deal for a quality drug-store moisturizer. Burt’s Bees consistently produces quality products, but always make sure to read the labels just in case.
Moisturizer is so important for skin health and protection, even for people with oily skin! I hope these products help you stay clean and beautiful!
