Setting Good Intentions for 2020

I don’t know about you, but 2019 was one of the wildest years of my life. Every year, I look forward to growth, new experiences, and lessons to learn. That’s why I never set new years resolutions as I know they’ll come as I live through the experiences.  But after 2019 and the voyage it was, I think it would be smart to set some intentions ahead of time. In the past, it worked to not set any plans or goals and let things just naturally happen. But with the emotional, awesome, and even heart-wrenching events that happen in life, it’s good to have the right structure so that your boat, that is life, doesn’t drown under the many large waves that may come in 2020.

According to Lexico, intentionality is philosophically defined as “the quality of mental states (e.g., thoughts, beliefs, desires, hopes) that consists in their being directed toward some object or state of affairs.” So having direction in the way you live life will make all the difference, allowing you to meet life’s lessons with grace.

No matter what, life will have good and bad moments. Having a positive state of mind will breed the best experience whether you have to tackle a ginormous wave or flow through a sea of sunflowers. Those intentions have to be there in order for you to have the best outcome. Here are some intentions I plan to set for the best voyage possible this year.

  • I will live in the moment
  • I will love more. Love myself, others, and life
  • I will appreciate everything
  • I will praise progress as things may get tough
  • I will trust the path that I’m on and not compare it with others’
  • I will take action for what I truly want

I hope these intentions will help set you guys on the right path as well. Have the best end of the year and Happy New Year!
