Fans of the bestselling novel Gone Girl will appreciate Liv Constantine’s The Last Mrs. Parrish: a novel filled with dark fiction and psychological suspense.

As the novel begins, the reader is introduced to Amber Patterson, a woman who aches to live life like the rich and powerful; in order to achieve this goal, she befriends Daphne Parrish, a beautiful woman married to the unbelievably wealthy and successful Jackson Parrish. Throughout the novel, Amber cons and manipulates her way into the Parrishs’ lives, and plots the path to take what she believes is rightfully hers.

The Last Mrs. Parrish is a delightfully dark book that contains twists and turns up until the last chapter. Each character is beautifully written, and they all have their secrets and flaws that are slowly revealed; this makes it hard to know which character to root for, especially as the book switches perspectives halfway though and another side to the story is unveiled.

Although the ending seemed a bit too preachy for the rest of the book’s tone, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a page-turner that any fan of white-collar crime, psychological thrillers, or suspense genres will eagerly devour.
