With Halloween right around the corner, many of us will be binge-watching our favorite spooky classics. If you are planning on staying in this October 31 and horror movies aren’t really your thing, grab some popcorn and turn on Disney’s over-the-top comedy Hocus Pocus.

Based in Salem Massachusetts, Hocus Pocus follows the story of three witches (played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy) who return 300 years after being hung for their spellwork in the 17th-century. To hold onto immortality, they have to take the life of a child, and the three kids who accidentally resurrected them are doing all they can to stop the witches from returning Salem to the way it was when they first lived.

Although Hocus Pocus initially flopped in the box-office, it’s committed fans and constant TV reruns has made it a cult-classic. Like most children’s films these days, Hocus Pocus incorporates a decent serving of adult humor that will likely go over anyone’s head who is under the age of 13. It’s PG script with a few PG-13 jokes makes it a fun film to watch as a kid and rewatch as an adult. The all-star cast, campy concept, and unforgettable musical number makes Hocus Pocus a fall essential.

Think there might be a better movie to watch this Halloween? That’s just a bunch of hocus pocus.
