Prioritizing Your Mental Health

As a student, it’s often easy for us to lose sight of what is most important: our mental health. But, there are a variety of resources or people available on campus for those who ever need any help with relieving stress or are dealing with mental health issues.

The first resource is therapy. Several months ago, I used the Student Psychological Services at my school and went to therapy for the first time. It was extremely helpful for me and I recommend it to every student who may need it. Whether you are going through issues that are more serious, or if you just need someone to talk to, counselors are wonderful and very helpful.

School or residential hall events also include really fun activities that can help you take your mind off of work and school. During your free time, consider seeing a performance or coming to do face masks at an event that your dorm is hosting. Taking the time to take care of yourself and slow things down a bit goes a long way.

Putting your well-being first ensures that you will be in a happy and healthy state of mind, and this will only bring a positive impact to your daily work, activities, and life!
