Gardening is a favorite pastime for people of all ages. From kids in kindergarten learning to grow vegetable seeds to college students hoarding succulents in their dorm rooms to retired people with expansive gardens, caring for plants connects us all. But it can be a difficult hobby to get into, especially with the space and time commitment required. At The Potting Shed by Carlisle, everyone–whether a beginner or a long-time gardener–can find something they’d love to plant.

Located at 10 Plaza Square, Suite 102 in the heart of the Orange Circle, The Potting Shed by Carlisle is a boutique garden store that spans both indoor and outdoor spaces with an eclectic mix of plants, pots, and other garden must-haves. It’s teeming with flourishing flowers, sprouting succulents, and growing greenery that gives the store a fun and earthy feel. It’s easy to spend hours examining all of them, and nearly impossible to leave without a plant or two in hand.

And they don’t only have plants! They also have decor for gardens, including trellises, fountains, and pots of every size, which allow for gardens that fit in any indoor or outdoor space in your home. Among these items, The Potting Shed also has adorable trinkets like tiny dragons and fairies, which can add a whimsical element to your garden. Passing through the indoor portions of the store, you may notice a series of candles portraying celebrities and fictional characters as saints, string lights of various themes, and posters and postcards showcasing different aspects of California. There is truly no way to describe the sheer scope of their merchandise–it’s something you have to see to believe.

With an expanded second floor, newly opened in April, there’s never been a better time to visit The Potting Shed by Carlisle. The recent addition highlights the best parts of the store–its open concept, the focus on community, and its vintage aesthetic. It offers a book collection, cards for every occasion, and of course more garden-related implements. As the business expands, so does its positive impact on the community.
