It’s 6:40am on a Monday morning; you have five minutes before you have to leave for work, and your makeup is perfect. Well, nearly perfect – just a quick swipe of eyeliner and…you ruin everything.
Sound familiar? Maybe not, but regardless, we can all agree that eyeliner is a pain. The slightest mistake can ruin hours of work, not to mention the struggle of getting your wings to match.
My trick? When I’m in a rush or looking for a softer line, I use eye shadow in place of eyeliner. It’s quick, easy, and any mistakes or smudging can be cleaned up with the quick swipe of a Q-tip.
As a bonus, you can use any color of eye shadow you like – I prefer neutral colors for daytime looks, but feel free to experiment with your favorite color palettes to create your own fun, bold looks!
For best results, use a thin, flat liner brush and run it under water before applying.
Gently coat the tip of the brush with eye shadow, then blot or swipe along the edge of your eye until the desired thickness is reached.
Clean any smudges with a Q-tip, then use your base eye shadow color to redefine the edge of the line. Add a wing and voila!
Finish up with a spritz of makeup setting spray, grab your keys, and go girl! You’re ready to take on the day ahead!
