With Covid-19 under control in New Zealand, they recently held their first concert, hosted by the band Six60, on January 16th, 2021 with about 20,000 attendees. As things look like they are going back to normal for New Zealand, many other countries such as America are desperate to be able to go to concerts and festivals soon too.
While New Zealand is enjoying its normalcy once again, events such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, EDC, and more have been canceled and rescheduled in America, but there is little hope that festivals will be returning any time soon.
Even though there are still concerts happening around the world, such as drive-in-raves, music fans have made it clear on social media that they miss the sweaty, covid and mask-free atmosphere of what concerts once were.
Concerts are a place filled with joy and an escape from reality. Many New Zealand citizens are expressing their happiness on social media that they get to finally return to this atmosphere after a long-awaited time.

This was Tuesday in New Zealand. Not a mask in sight because no community transmission. Masks are only mandatory on public transport and flights. ๐ pic.twitter.com/CarqNcWRjz

If youโre not living in New Zealand, I know it may hurt seeing them be able to enjoy concerts again with no worries. However, I hope this also sheds a glimpse of hope for people, because if they are able to hold concerts again this soon, hopefully other countries are on their way to doing the same safely!
