Summer vacation is nearing its end, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! A huge part of the summer holidays for me is being able to explore new things, like new activities, new places, and especially new skincare and makeup. The hot, dry climate makes having a few of my skincare favorites necessary! With that, here are a few of my essential summer skincare and makeup faves:
1) Sun Bum SPF 50 Original Spray Sunscreen
Ah, the classic. Summer weather means being outside more, and being outside more means constantly reapplying my sunscreen. The Sun Bum Original Spray Sunscreen is my favorite body sunscreen; the spray makes it easy to apply and reapply, and the Vitamin E helps to fight against premature skin aging and promote the healing of scars.
2) The Body Shop Mango Body Yogurt
Just because it’s constantly hot doesn’t mean you can skip hydrating your body! However, a lot of people are turned off of body lotions during the summer because of the heavy, sticky feeling; nobody wants to deal with a thick body lotion when they’re already sweaty. If you’re someone who has this problem (I know I am), insert: The Body Shop’s Mango Body Yogurt. The Body Yogurt line is lightweight and hydrating, and sinks effortlessly into the skin without leaving any oily residue, and the mango is the perfect fruity summer scent.
Summer heat is notorious for drying out my lips, so believe me when I say that a good lip balm is necessary for your summer product arsenal. The Glossier Balm Dotcom is currently my favorite lip balm; the castor oil helps to keep moisture locked in, and the Vitamin E and Lanolin are prominent hydrating ingredients.
4) Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
If you’re the kind of person who can’t LIVE without a good, volumizing mascara, this is the product for you. The Better Than Sex mascara lengthens and thickens lashes in just a few effortless swipes, and the waterproof formula ensures that your mascara won’t end up melting all over your face because of the summer heat.
5) Benefit Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain
I don’t know about you, but in the summer, I don’t want to have to put on a heavy lipstick that I’ll have to keep reapplying throughout the day. The Benefit Benetint is the perfect summer stain for me; it makes your cheeks look naturally flushed and your lips pink, and the formula lasts through swimming, sweating, and eating.
