The Major League Baseball postseason is finally here and, with the World Series beginning in just under a month, the action is heating up.
The two slots yet to be filled belong to the winners of the wild card games, with this year’s games being the Oakland Athletics vs. the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs vs. the Colorado Rockies.
The rest of the seats are filled with the regulars plus some surprises: the Atlanta Braves, who were predicted early on to have a mediocre season; the Cleveland Indians, who had a very slow start and a record of only 21-22 halfway through regular season; and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who suffered many injuries to prominent players which consequently left them with an ominous 17-26 record halfway through the season.
With some unexpected teams jockeying for the title and some all star players out due to injury, this year’s MLB postseason bodes well for an interesting World Series in a few weeks time.
