Mixing Metals

Accessories are too often an underrated aspect of a look. My favorite accessory is jewelry because of its ability to elevate any and every outfit. Over the years I have grown into appreciating how much jewelry can add to your look, whether it be layering, matching or adding classic diamond earrings. Just adding one dainty bracelet dresses up any outfit as simple as a little black dress.

Wearing gold and silver jewelry at the same time used to be considered a crime against fashion, but personally I feel the complete opposite! Combining these two allows you to mix and match your favorite pieces and can be done in a multitude of ways. You can layer the two evenly throughout your look or wear all gold jewelry with one pop of silver (or vice versa) to show that you want this piece to stand out.

No matter the occasion, you can find one or two statement pieces that serve as the base for any jewelry look. For example, I wear two dainty necklaces, one silver and one gold, at all times. This way, no matter the pieces I choose to add (whether it be rings, bracelets or earrings) the necklace combination ties the look together and it always comes across as cohesive.

The most important thing is to be confident in the jewelry look you present. Combining these two metals adds a level of power and edge to your look because you stray from the social norm of confining pieces to just silver or gold. There are truly no rules in fashion unless you allow there to be, so be confident and have fun with your accessories!
