LGBTQ+ on Netflix

We see the LGBTQ+ community a lot in the media, and Netflix in particular has many shows and movies that incorporate this community into its storyline. While I’ve watched many good movies and shows that continue to educate others on LGBTQ+, I want to recommend watching The Fosters. This TV show is fairly popular, and many of you might have already seen it, but for those who haven’t, go check it out.

It follows a girl named Callie and her younger brother Jude, two foster children who get adopted by Stef and her wife, Lena. Both children find comfort in this family’s home, and their journey throughout the show is emotional and heartfelt. Stef and Lena create a wonderful family who can express themselves freely and have open communication, an important aspect when talking about LGBTQ+ topics throughout the seasons. This show deals with many of life’s hardships in a very mature and positive manner, leaving the viewer connected to the characters and their lives. Again, I highly recommend you watch this show. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times.
