Keeping a Healthy Lifestyle

With everything going on in our lives, it is sometimes easy to get caught up in work or school. I know what it is like to put so much effort into work that you forget to take care of yourself. However, there are many simple, easy ways to balance work while taking care of your body and mind to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

One of the most important ways to keep your body and mind healthy is to drink enough water. There are many affordable, reusable water bottles you can get and keep refilling throughout the day. To make it more flavorful, I love adding strawberries and mint to my water. It is especially refreshing to put frozen fruit in my water during the summer. After drinking about 70 ounces of water a day, I noticed that I started feeling more refreshed and energetic.

Another tip to keep a healthy lifestyle is to take about half an hour once a week to dedicate to self-care. This can be anything from skincare to taking a bath or meditating. Sometimes it can be difficult to find time during the weekdays for self-care, so I usually dedicate half an hour every Friday night. However, a few years ago, someone told me to write down three things you are grateful for every day. I have been doing that for a while, and I have noticed I feel much happier now.

Lastly, eating is a significant factor in keeping a healthy lifestyle. Many people try going on extreme diets to be healthy. However, these often don’t work. It is important not to restrict yourself in what you eat and to remember that everything is okay in moderation. Understanding this will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
