How I Start My Day

Getting up in the morning can be a struggle sometimes, but creating an efficient morning routine that works for you can help start your day off in a positive way! As someone that likes to lie in bed for hours after I’m awake, a morning routine has helped me to be more productive throughout the day and just feel better overall. I know getting out of bed can be difficult, so here are the steps that I take to set an encouraging vibe for my day!

When I wake up, I tend to immediately grab my phone, check my texts, and scroll through social media. Now, instead of looking at my phone as soon as I open my eyes, I like to lie in bed for a couple of minutes, gather my thoughts, and occasionally say affirmations to set the tone for what I want to accomplish during the day. I’ve found that this really puts me in a more uplifting mood than the times where I become engulfed in social media as soon as I wake up.

Next, I always make sure to do my skincare routine after I brush my teeth and put my contacts in. It makes me feel more refreshed and feel better about myself than if I were to just start my day without putting on any moisturizer and sunscreen. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in your day!

Lastly, I like to make a list of all the things I need and want to get done. I’m a forgetful person, so by making a list on my phone or physically writing one, it helps me to remember my responsibilities for the day as well as keep me focused!
