Hello Spring Break!

It’s finally that time we’ve all been waiting for since the start of the spring semester! It’s been a long semester and first half of the year, with changing social and political landscapes, midterms and exams, and other stress-filled activities, so I’m excited to say we are in the final stretch. Up ahead lies a week of bliss and relaxation, or at the very least a break from routine.

Whether you’re going on vacation, visiting family back home, or just staying in, here are some things to do on your week off:

  • Get together with friends! Spring break is a tradition of hanging out with friends and forgetting about all of the stressors that day-to-day life brings. So spend some time with those around you! It’s good for the soul.
  • Go to the beach or the pool! Spring break is the midway point between our sunny seasons of spring and summer, which is a great time to get your beach on!
  • Go on a walk! You may be just as busy this week as any other, but at least take some time to get outside and get some fresh air. A walk is a simple way to connect with the world around you.
  • Call up an old friend. Now can be a great time to reevaluate some friendships and strengthen connections with those in your life that may not be in your immediate area. Friendships are valuable and worth holding onto, and spring break is a great time to catch up with them.
  • Read a good book! I know I’ll be reading at least one book during spring break because I love using breaks as a time to get lost in other worlds, as well as expand my mind. Reading can be your kind of vacation from day-to-day life, even if you don’t go anywhere.
  • Have a movie night! Film is just as exciting as fiction and can take you to other places even in the comfort of your own home. Pop some popcorn, curl up on the couch, and veg out! Spring break can be anything you want it to be!

It’s your week, so go ahead and spend it however you want! May it be fulfilling, and give you a much-needed break! Happy spring break!
