Halloween at Home

Let’s admit it, Halloween at home is not the most exciting; no in-person parties, bashes, dances, trick or treating—it truly is a bummer. However, during these trying times, it is important to try to have fun and enjoy yourself. Yes, Halloween will not be the same this year, but you can still do some things to celebrate the holiday.

One thing you can do is have a Halloween decoration contest with your family or housemates! Have everyone decorate their room or an area in the house and see whose design is the best.

Adding onto the previous activity, you can even make your own decorations. Take a trip to a local Michael’s or other crafts store and grab some materials. There are so many different decorations you can make out of so many different items!

Another activity is decorating cookies. Yes, it’s a basic one, but it’s still something fun to do, even if you aren’t the most artistic person; deck your cookies out with sprinkles and icing and just have fun with it. Plus, who doesn’t want cookies?

Of course, Halloween season wouldn’t be what it is without the costumes, so dress up, which is something you can still do! Whether you’re with your housemates or family, dressing up is still fun. Maybe you’re even attending a social-distanced or Zoom party, or maybe not. Either way, dress in something you love—you can always show your costume off on Instagram!

I know this Halloween isn’t ideal, but I hope you all still have fun!
