Going Back to School During a Pandemic

What a time to be alive! We are living through a global crisis. . . a pandemic. COVID rates are still high and rising, but we are still mandated to go back to school in-person. As much as I am afraid to go back to in-person learning, I know that I have to. There’s a lot of fear that comes with this, but here are a few things that I’m going to do, that you should do as well, that will keep you safe:

Get vaccinated – If you’re still not vaccinated, it is highly recommended that you get it. This not only protects you, but it also protects those around you. Get the vaccine and help stop the spread of this virus! There are many vaccination sites open all around for free!

Wear a Mask – Even when you’re walking on or around campus, wear a mask! Research has proven that masks significantly lower the risk of infection- for yourself and others. Keep yourself safe and be considerate to those around you by wearing a mask!

Sanitize! Sanitize! Sanitize! – Carry a small hand sanitizer bottle with you at all times! Your campus should have hand sanitizer available for use, but it never hurts to have one on you handy! Make sure you’re consistently using hand sanitizer. Germs live everywhere!

Be Considerate – Be mindful of those around you. Remember that this is a team effort. We all have to work together to beat COVID! Remain 6 feet apart, remain masked, and do your part as a student and as a person to keep yourself and others safe and healthy!

I hope everyone has a fun, safe, and healthy school year!
