Getting Organized and Getting Positive This Spring!

Spring cleaning is the best way to welcome the new season! Feeling organized, clean, and all-around neat creates a positive personal environment.

The best way to start the cleaning process is to take time out of your day to go into your closet and sort out two piles: a pile of things you want to keep, and a pile of things you want to donate. By doing this, you are figuring out what clothes you still wear and which ones you are ready to toss. I know that whenever I successfully clean out my closet, a sense of gratification arises. I feel more centered and less anxious about the overstocked shelves of unneeded items.

After you finish the closet, label your piles so you don’t mistakenly get rid of the belongings that you want to keep! This will definitely help you when you are folding things back into your drawers.

Next, it’s time to clean the desk! Nothing is more overwhelming than trying to find a pen in your room that’s under a pile of papers from last semester’s projects. By cleaning out your desk, you are allowing yourself to become more organized with your stationery supplies and anything else you may need to succeed.

Spring cleaning can sound like a hassle, but at the end of the day, there is no greater feeling than having the peace of mind that your personal environment is spotless and fresh. And remember, cleaning can be fun as well! I know that whenever I need to clean my closet or my room, I ask my mom for help and we listen to music and get the job done together as a team. Now, have fun, play some fun tunes and get cleanin’!
