Forecast for Today… Sunny with a High of Cold

Los Angeles weather is pretty unpredictable. It can be both cold and hot in the same day, or even in the same hour! You can leave your house in the morning when it is freezing cold, dressed as though the rest of the day will be too, but by 11:00 a.m. you are sweaty and wish that you had worn shorts.

Since no one truly knows which way the weather will go it can be a struggle to decide what to wear for the day, but this LA native is here to help! The first step is to constantly check the weather app. Though it is not always 100 percent accurate, it is your best bet on the weather that day, and it can change at the snap of your fingers.

The next step is to decide what you want to wear for the day. If you don’t know whether to dress for hot or cold, your best bet will be ripped jeans. Ripped jeans give you the kind of coverage that you need if it is cold, but at the same time give your legs room to breathe if it is on the warmer side.

Short sleeved shirts are your friend. You have optimal skin coverage still have some skin exposed, which can save you from embarrassing sweat stains.

Finally, always (yes, always) take a jacket with you. Even if the sun is shining brightly, take one with you. Weather in LA changes so quickly that by lunch time it can be 60 degrees and about to rain. You don’t always need a huge jacket—you can take a light sweater or a denim jacket—but, just to be safe, don’t leave your house without one.

There are ways to combat the indecisive LA weather, you just have to be ready.
