Fall Color Combos

Fall colors are among my favorite hues; they’re bold, saturated, and always go together. You can often mix and match bright and muted colors together, like gold, sienna, mauve, brown, and grey. I find that fall outfits are often layered because of the chilly weather and the beautiful color combinations. Here are a few suggestions I have for easy and affordable fall styles to try.

A classic look that never goes out of style is academic chic. This can include trousers, turtlenecks, blazers, pencil skirts, and sophisticated dresses with tights. I love these office-friendly combos because it allows you to be creative with your look while also appearing professional and effortlessly elegant. I love wearing a bright-colored turtleneck or mock neck sweater or shirt with muted pants or trousers (grey, plaid, black, or brown). With a cinched waist and straight lines, this style has a modest comfort level and is flattering on all body types.

Another beautiful and surprisingly easy combo is a classic dress and jacket combination. This is my go-to outfit when I miss my alarm and still want to look put together. My favorites include a fun print dress (plaid, stripes, polka dots, or houndstooth) with a one-tone, grunge jacket (leather, corduroy, or suede). If you live in a colder climate, I recommend wearing dark tights or flesh-colored pantyhose–they’re also helpful if you forgot to shave your legs the night before a date or business meeting.

Have fun trying some new patterns and colors that spice up your autumn look book!
