The end of August is quickly approaching, and with September right around the corner, I’ve been excitedly prepping my fall wardrobe. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons since the weather is cool enough for layering while still maintaining an impeccably chic and effortless style. Read on to see my fall wardrobe must-haves.
1. Oversized White Button Up
There’s nothing classier than a white button-down. In the early weeks of fall, this can be paired with shorts and sneakers for a casual transitional look, but as the weather cools down, a classic white button-down will look great paired with jeans or even leggings.
2. Wide Leg Jeans
I’m still a big fan of skinny jeans because they accentuate the legs and curves, but there’s something undeniably chic and effortless about wide-leg jeans, especially ones with a baggier fit. I’ve been obsessed with this silhouette for the past few months, and I can definitely see myself wearing this with a cropped hoodie or even a chunky knit sweater as the weather cools down.
3. White Sneakers
Boots will always be my go-to autumn footwear, but there’s something about the casualness of a pair of white sneakers that just seems perfect for the start of fall and the new school year. Many brands like Nike, Adidas, and Reebok have some classic sneakers that pair well with just about anything—from jeans, to shorts, to skirts, and even dresses!
4. Camel Coat
The number one item that I recommend for a fall wardrobe is none other than the camel coat, preferably with a longer silhouette. The drapey fit makes it casual and effortless, and the classic camel color is absolutely perfect for autumn.
5. Oversized Cardigan
Another great outerwear piece to add to your fall wardrobe is an oversized cardigan, preferably in a soft knit material. Cardigans like this are super versatile—they’re wearable even when the weather is still a bit warm, and as the temperatures drop, the oversized fit allows for layering, so that you can make use of this piece of clothing throughout the whole season.
