Amalaratna Zandile Dlamini, an American rapper who you may know as the incredibly talented, Doja Cat. If you know Doja Cat, you’ve probably heard her extremely popular song, “Say So”, a mix between modern pop and 70s pop. The use of electronic guitar and bubblegum synths really add to the ambiance of the song. It’s a groovy song and I assume it will inspire many kids to discover true disco music. Cat is able to show her range of vocals through the dreamy hook. But don’t worry, the whimsical nature of the song is balanced by her powerful rap verse. The song, after all, is about a man lusting after Cat who is not straightforward about his intentions. Hence Cat sings, “I’d let you had I known it, why don’t you say so?” I like a groovy song, especially one with a tinge of RnB influence. This definitely hits the mark.
The next time you’re in the mood for an upbeat, funky song listen to “Say So”! I highly recommend adding it to your playlist.
