Conquering Online Classes

I know we’re all thinking the same thing: “I never signed up for online classes!” But this has become the new reality for students all around the world and we have to stay positive. The best way to do so is to stay focused on doing well in school, and I’m going to provide you with some tips on having a successful semester (including some fun tips)!

Step 1: Have good wifi connection

Zoom calls require a strong internet connection, so it is essential that you use your wifi to its best ability. One way to do this is to locate your router and maybe move closer to it if you’re having problems with your connection. You can also directly connect your device into your router for exceptional connection speed and it will prevent any lagging. The only thing you need is a USB to Ethernet adapter.

Step 2: Stay Organized!

Staying organized is super important to maintain successful learning. One way that I do this with online classes is making a To-Do List. You’ll be able to see what you need to do and will prevent you from missing any important deadlines! Another way to make sure you don’t miss anything is to keep in contact with your professors, whether this is via email or Zoom office hours. Doing so maintains good relationships with them and also ensures that you’re up to date with everything.

Fun Tip: Zoom Backgrounds

A way to make online classes fun is to change your background. You can add any photo as your virtual background for all of your classmates and professor to see. This can help lighten the mood! When you have the image you want, you can go to your settings in Zoom and on the menu click on ‘Virtual Background.’ Here you can upload your image and you’re all set!

Good luck on the rest of your semester!
