COLORS Studio-YouTube

I am constantly looking for ways to find new artists or just clever, ear-catching songs.  One of the ways I love to do this is through a channel on YouTube that I came across a couple of years ago called the COLORS SHOW. This innovative outlet defines themselves as ‘a unique aesthetic music platform showcasing exceptional talent from all around the globe, focused on promoting the most distinctive new artists and original sounds.’ There is truly no better way to express this inventive platform, but what is especially cool is how they appeal not only to the sonar senses, but have a very aesthetic appeal as well. The artists are placed in the center of a cube-looking setting, oftentimes with only a microphone or singular instrument, and each performance is paired with a background color that somehow matches the underlying feeling of the song.

What sets this channel apart from other mainstream music outlets is that they seek and feature specifically underground artists. There are a few mainstream artists such as Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, and Daniel Cesar, and while the majority of the featured artists might not be as popular, they keep you clicking next with each one’s breathtaking raw talent. If you have some free time and are looking for a new way to enjoy artists check this reliable and refreshing channel out!

A few of my personal favorite performances are:

  • Mereba, ‘Stay Tru’
  • Mac Demarco, ‘Still Beating’
  • Jorja Smith, ‘Blue Lights’
  • Mick Jenkins, ‘What am I to do’
  • Mahalia, ‘Sober’
  • Masago, ‘Navajo’
